Chinese tea culture is an important aspect of the Chinese heritage and dates back to over 5,000 years. In China, tea take up an important role as it is a symbol of friendship and hospitality. The art of making and preparing tea is steeped in tradition where tea houses are common across china (Ling & Gu, 2018). Tea is also believed to have medicinal values in china. Chinese normally organize for tea ceremonies where they showcase their artistry and elegance of their culture. There are various tea blends available for sampling by the tea lovers in china.

Chinese tea history

Tea blending and consumption has been an integral part of the Chinese culture for over 5,000 years. The story of tea began in ancient China where a legendary speaks of the emperor Shen Nung who is believed to have discovered the medicinal value in tea.  Throughout the years and centuries, tea drinking became a common social norm and a practice by many Chinese. It was During the Tang Dynasty in the years 618 to 907 when tea became an item of trade and tribute (Hu & Khan, 2019). Tea then becomes a national beverage. The Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) saw the development of tea culture. This included the creation of tea ceremonies of unique tea ware, including the establishment of tea ceremonies and the creation of unique tea ware. Up and till today, tea has become an important part of the Chinese culture not only for its lovely taste but also for its health benefits and that trend would go on for many years to come.
