Dahongpao Dahongpao is a kind of oolong tea from the Wuyi Mountains of China popularly known for its rich and complex flavor. The history of Dahongpao Dahongpao also know as Big Robe originated from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian China. It is one of the best brands of tea that china is proud of producing as it has a complex flavor enriched with medicinal components. The history of Dahongpao can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty. Here is hwere it was first cultivated and produced by monks in the Wuyi Mountains. Legends put it that it was during the reign of Emperor Jiajing when a mother of one of the emperor's officials fell sick. The officials were unable to cure her, but then a monk from the Wuyi Mountains offered her some tea made from the Dahongpao plants growing on the mountainside.
